JAMES BARKLEY,
the progenitor of this Barkley line in America, came from Ireland with the "Clinton
Party" on the ship "George & Anne," which landed on Cape
Cod (Massachusetts) 4 Oct 1729. He eventually settled in Orange Co., NY. He
married MARY MOFFAT[a all].
