Elizabeth VEAZIE
937
Elizabeth's birth record (src 937 1:16): born (13) (8) 1653.
Sprague of James: "of Boston & New York."
Daughter Christian is (possibly incorrectly) assumed from a mention in the will of Samuel Veazie (b 1656) [Sprague #5192] which lists "my kinswoman Christian Allison, dau. Of James of New York…" Further, Samuel's will (27 Nov 1690) mentions all his sisters (both married and single), except Elizabeth. The implications are that Christian Allison was born and his sister Elizabeth had died before Samuel's death. It may also imply that daughter Elizabeth Allison was married (perhaps not warranting a bequeath) or had died before Samuel's death.
Elizabeth & James' marriage record (src 886 Dorchester V1:23): John "of Boston" & Elizabeth "of Braintry" were joined by William Stoughton Assistant.
James ALLISON
Children:
Hillman has James b 20 Oct 1650. However, Boston Births, Bapt.,…, 1630-1699, Appleton, has a birth, death and baptism listings for James (sons of James and Christian) b 20 Oct 1650, d 2 Apr 1653, bapt 19 Jun 1653. It seems more likely their child James was b 20 Oct 1630, d 2 Apr 1653, and Christian was carrying a child when young James died. When the child she was carrying was born, that was named James (and baptized Jun 19) as it was very common for children to be given a parent's name, and for a later child to be so-named if an earlier child of that name had died young.
