In 1870¹³⁴⁶, a male, age 22, with the name "Lansing" is listed in Barkley Marsh's household. It is assumed that male is Alanson. In 1900¹³⁴⁸, Alanson's birthdate is listed as Nov 1849. Other records consistently indicate an earlier birth year. I.e., the ten-year census records from 1850 through 1880 his age is given as 2, 12, 22 and 32 respectively. His obituary¹³⁵⁷ says September 1849.

Alanson B. is mentioned in sister Catherine's obituary⁴¹⁸⁶ (Mar 15, 1900) as residing at the Marsh homestead near Bethel, NY.
