Adaline BARKLEY b. 1848 May¹⁰⁴⁸ at Schuyler Co., New York⁸⁴. d. 1922 Mar 28¹²⁵⁸ at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L W Hubbard, Niagara Falls, New York¹²⁵⁹. bd. Tyrone Union Cem., Tyrone, New York¹²⁵⁸.

Married¹⁰⁴⁸ 1870~¹⁰⁴⁸. In 1900¹⁰⁴⁸, James and Adaline are listed as married 30 years.

In 1870, James resided with his parents and sister Dora. In 1875, following his marriage to Adaline, Addis J and Adaline Morrision resided¹⁰⁶⁷ next door to Daniel & Catherine Morrison. Addis was a manufacturer of shoes and boots.

In 1880¹²⁵⁰, James and Adaline are living in the household of D E and Catharine D Morrison. The obituary⁴³⁴⁶ for "Addison Morrison" mentions him as a well-known resident of Weston. Weston is a small town a mile or two northwest of Tyrone, NY. He was killed by lightning while driving a hay wagon, drawing in hay for Andrew Lawrence. His son Cyrus was on the ground, pitching hay into the wagon, when a bright flash of lightning struck the father, apparently killing him instantly, and set the hay on fire. Cyrus felt no shock and extinguished the flames. The horses were both knocked down, one of them not recovering for a long time.

Survivors were Addison's wife, the former Adeline Barkley, his four children, and a sister (as mentioned above), Mrs Dora Salsbury of Schenectady.

The obituary (1940) for Loretta Barkley¹¹⁹⁶, Adaline's sister, mentions nephews R F Benham, Cyrus B Morrison and Abram Morrison; and niece Nina Hubbard.

As Adaline is Loretta's only sister, and making the assumption that Morrison may be Adaline's married name, one finds, in 1880¹²⁵⁰, there is a James A Morrison, wife Adaline and daughters Nina and Nona. Further searching finds, in 1920¹²⁵², Lute Hubbard, wife Nina and Adeline Morrison, mother-in-law.
