Jasper was the youngest of seven children of John and Miranda (Sweet) Easterbrook. He was born in Hornby, NY, and, when he was three years old, his parents moved to Big Flats (NY). Following his 1875 marriage to Mary Bideler, he was a farmer. He then moved to Corning about 1882 and engaged in the grocery and coal business. About 17 years prior to his death he went to Florida for his health and invested in real estate. He was survived by his wife, daughter Ethel, son Clare, sister Mary M Lewis, nephew Newton Easterbrook, and niece, Mrs Helen Fosdick.

Mary's middle name, Delephine, is listed on her death certificate2469 and, in her obituary3266, as "Delphine.". That certificate also lists her mother's maiden name. Her obituary relates that Mary was working at the Rathbun Hotel in Elmira, at the time she married Jasper Easterbrook. She spent her early life in Caton, Corning, South Corning and vicinity. For the 28 years prior to her death, she spent each winter in St Petersburg, FL. She died in St Petersburg following an automobile accident. Though details weren't known, it was thought she not injured, but died from fright and the shock of the collision. Her son, Clare, of South Corning, arrived in Florida the day after the accident, but his mother had passed away. She was survived by her son Clare and daughter Ethel Mae.

The 1921 obituary3265 for Ethel's father mentions Ethel "of St. Petersburg, Fla." Her mother's obituary3266 mentions her middle name.
