John Emerson Reynolds married109 first Martha A Dearborn in 1843. Martha A Reynolds is listed in the Reynolds household346 in 1850, just below John E Reynolds. She probably died before 1853 as John married second Melissa Bloomfield Veazie in that year.
In 1860, John and Melissa Reynolds, with daughter Hette L Reynolds (age 1), resided343 with John's parents. In 1870, John, a tailor, wife Melissa, and daughter Hetta Reynolds (now age 11), still resided344 in Bangor, dwelling 348, family 405. The mortality schedule for that census year records the death of John's father, John Reynolds, who died in Aug, 1869, of debility, reported by family 405, Bangor.
John E (tailor) and Melissa B Reynolds, and their daughter Hetta Louise Reynolds (now 22), still lived in Bangor.
Mt Hope Cemetery interment records636 records that John died Jun 12, 1898, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, at the age of 79y, and was buried in Mt Hope, Jun 15, 1898. It's not clear why John was in Pennsylvania at the time of his death.
Melissa Bloomfield Veazie was born99 in Corinna, Maine, Feb 13, 1830, the daughter of Isaac and Lydia (Knowles) Veazie.

Several of John Emerson Reynold's siblings moved to California at the turn of the century. In 1920, Hetta Louise, age 59, is found living with her cousin Mindora? B Goodwin ( age 61, divorced).
Hetta Louise Reynolds died [ The (Santa Rosa, CA) Democrat, Thu, Feb 20, 1936; newspapers.com ] at her home in Mill Valley, California, Feb 17, 1936, of a heart ailment. "She was born in Maine 76 years ago but had resided in California for many years."
