Those interested in the Bliss family1784 in America would do well to peruse "Genealogy of the Bliss Family in America.." available on several sites on the internet. The information herein attributed to that source have been moderately researched and found to be accurate.

All children listed herein were the issue of Eli and Adaline.

Boston Births: Mary's middle name was incorrectly transcribed as "Westoz." She is mentioned in the will5499 of her father Eli Veazie, signed Mar 9, 1852, as "daughter Mary Western Veazie."

In 1850, Mary is living1758 in the household of Eli C Bliss and his wife, her sister, Adaline. Two years later, she would be married to Eli.

In 1865, following Eli's death, Mary, now widowed, was head of household4355. Residing with her were (step-)daughter Florence, (step-)daughter Lucy McNear, Lucy's husband Samuel McNear, grandson George McNear, and stepsons Eli and Charles. In 1900, at the age of 91, Mary resided1763 with her widowed son Eli in Chelsea, MA.

Mary W Bliss died5289, probably in Chelsea, MA, as the peition for administration lists 325 Chestnut St, Chelsea, as her last address. The petitioner was Francis W Veazie, "nephew of said deceased." The petition was submitted May 10, 1901, and registered Jun 3, 1901.

That petition5289 contains a long list of heirs-at-law and next-of-kin. Each name was accompanied by a residence and relationship. Mainly nieces and nephews, the list also mentioned children of her niece Ellen (Veazie) Dixey, her niece Anna (Hardwick) Flint, her niece Mary (Hardwick) Tilden, and her nephew Fred Hardwick.
