Joseph's birthyear, calculated from his age at death (77) matches information in the Bridge Genealogy1794. In his death record1781 his parents are listed as Peter and Nancy, both born Boston. It is somewhat circumstantial that the Joseph Veazie who married1782 Rachel Bridge is the son of Peter and Nancy Veazie. For records cited, there is no conflict with birth, marriage or death dates. This Joseph appears to be the best candidate. Bridge1794 appears to agree and, due to numerous details I failed to uncover, appears to be reliable.
Joseph was apparently a successful baker. In 1850, he lists his occupation as 'none' and his personal value is $16000. He is listed in 1855 and 1860 as a baker and, in 1860, his real property is valued at $15777.
In the 1860 census487, that particular enumerator listed towns as well as states for place of birth. Rachel is listed (consistent with other records) as Wiscasset, ME, as does her death record1790
