Following Lewis' first wife Sophronia's death ( Jan 1859 ), Lewis married1921 Nancy (unknown maiden name), born in Virginia. Following Lewis' death, Nancy and stepsons including Jerome appear in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. By 1880, Nancy had married1924 Marcellus Moxley and stepsons Lewis, Uriah, Jerome A and Arthur live with them. Although all four boys are listed in the 1880 census1924 with father born New York and mother born Ohio, it is concluded that Nancy, born Virgina, is in fact their mother as they were all born after 1860, after the death of Lewis first wife Sophronia.
