The marriage date for Lewis and Caroline is estimated from the birthyear of their oldest child, born 1905. Caroline's maiden name is indicated by daughter Norma's marriage license application "Norma Gott Rider." A search uncovers the obituary (Mexico NYIndependent, Thurs, Jun 15, 1939) of Mrs. Caroline Gott Rider which mentions surviving daughter Mrs George Veagie[sic].

Lewis and Caroline had three children: Norma, Leona (Mrs Frederick Lull), and James.

Caroline's obituary¹⁹³² states she was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Norman Gott.
