Clinton was married previous to his marriage to Frankie, as indicated by children listed in various censuses who were born prior to 1896 (marriage date for Clinton and Frankie.) Those children were: Maude L¹⁹⁰⁹, b Sep 1888; and Rhoda C¹⁹⁰⁹, b Dec 1890.

Frances Veazie Hubbard was apparently called Frankie all of her life. Just a few years after her birth, she is listed as "Frank.." in the only census¹⁹⁰⁸ where she appears with the surname Veazie. She is listed as "Frankie" (or something close) in all the censuses referenced. Her obituary¹⁹³⁸ says she was born to Mr and Mrs "Joe" Veazie in Leon, NY. However, the association of George Veazie with the Hubbards indicates clearly that Frankie Hubbard was the daughter of George and Betsey Veazie - George and Betsey resided¹⁹⁰⁸ in Leon, NY, in 1880, with daughter "Frank.." listed. In the 1905 census¹⁹¹² and the 1910 census¹⁹¹⁰, George (and his second wife Mary) are listed in the same residence as Solon and Clarissa Hubbard, Clinton's parents. Her obituary also mentions a half-brother and half-sister living in New York, surviving her. Those likely reference Esther and George J Veazie, her half-siblings by her father's second wife Mary, though Esther Veazie Sager died in 1954.
