Family of Francis Winslow VEAZIE and Emma L PRATT

Francis Winslow VEAZIE b. 1848 Apr1763 at Boston, MA855. d. 1910 May 2855 at 309 Washington Ave, Chelsea, MA855. bd. Woodlawn Cem., Everett, MA855.
Emma L PRATT b. 1845 Dec1763 at Boston, MA855. d. 1938~1735. bd. Woodlawn Cem., Everett (Chelsea), MA1994.

Married855 1871 Mar 16855 at Chelsea, MA855.

The marriage record for Francis and Emma (MVR 237:210) unfortunately does not list the maiden names of their mothers. At the time of their marriage, Francis was in rubber goods manufacturing.

In 1880, Francis worked1761 in a rubber mill. In 1890, at the time of son Francis' birth855, he was working as a clerk. In 1900, he was a superintendent1763 of a rubber mill. In 1910, Francis "occupation" is listed1764 as "own income." At the time of his death (MVR v1910/30:120) his occupation was "supt." In that record the informant was Mrs. Francis W Veazie and Dr C N Cutler of Chelsea recorded that he died of exhaustion following 2 weeks of angina pectoris, which he had for 5 years. He was buried on May 5 in Woodlawn Cem.

The WWII draft registration170 for son Francis (b 1890) lists son Francis' middle name as Winslow. As son Francis is referred to in several records as "Jr." it is assumed father Francis' middle name is the same.

Emma L Pratt was born a twin with Emily A Pratt. She lived with her parents in Boston and Chelsea until the time of her marriage to Francis Veazie. Following Francis' death, Emma lived in the Boston area presumably until her death sometime about 1938, when she was listed in the Easthampton city directory that year as "Veazie Emma L wid Frank W rem to Boston." Hillman800 has her death before 1930 (typo for 1940?), and buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA (no reference).
