In 1900, Cecil, enumerated as 'Viere C,' is living with his widowed father and several cousins. In 1910, following his father's death in 1907, Cecil is living with his step-mother, Pearl, whom his father married²⁰⁷² in 1900. He was a druggist at that time. He had graduated from Purdue with a degree in pharmacy after studying at DePauw and opened a drug store in Muncie.
