Wife Hattie's sister, Edna Barber, lived with Edward and Hattie in Manchester, VA, in 1900. Edward's obituary³⁰⁷¹ says that, except for two years in Virginia, Edward lived his life in Caton Township.

Harriet's middle name is mentioned in the obituary³³⁷² of son Clarence.

In 1930, Harriet Richards, widow, is living next door to daughter Mae R Winters and Mae's husband John.
