Wesley enlisted¹⁹⁹³ in Co B, Maine 2d Inf Regiment 28 May 1861, shortly after his marriage to Sabrina. He was promoted to Full Corporal but died of his wounds.

Sabrina and her sister Lucinda are living with her uncle James Veazie in 1860. By 1870, she had been married to Wesley Brown and lost him to the war, was married to Fields Pendleton, and had 2 children. In 1880, she was then the mother of 7 children, all living at home. In 1900, she is listed as the mother of 8 (Phebe was born after the 1880 census), 7 of whom were then living (Nellie had died in 1886.)
