In 1930, where Lucy appears as Eugene's wife, Lucy, age 46, was listed as married at age 41, 5 years previous. Eugene's memorial⁸⁴⁰ lists his wife as Lucy Barbo Boothby.

In the 1850 census²³²⁶ enumerated 31 Aug, Eugene was age 10/12. In 1860, the enumerator conveniently listed not only birth states but birth towns. His full name is listed in the Dartmouth College Geneal Catalogue⁹⁰⁷. He graduated Dartmouth in the class of 1875 and received a degree of Doctor of Medicine. He served²³³⁵ the community of Hammond, Wisconsin, as a doctor and as county coroner.

Following Eugene's death, which must have occurred very shortly after their enumeration of the 1930 census, Lucy Boothby, age 59 and a widow, is lodging in Minnesota, a fur fitter with her own business.
