Married1817 1942 Oct 105471 at Norfolk, VA5471. From the "Personals" section of a 1942 issue of the Anniston Star5471: "William Harney Veazie, U. S. N., and Mrs Veazie are now located at 970 Geary Street in San Francisco, Calif., Mrs Veazie was formerly Ruth Stacy, daughter of Dr and Mrs William A Stacey of Evergreen (AL), and the marriage took place on October 10 in Norfolk, Va. Both young people formerly lived in Anniton(sic)."

William Veazie graduated2399 Ithaca (NY) College ~1935 and was named physical director of the local YMCA in North Adams, MA. In 1939, he became physical director for the YMCA at White Plains, NY. The Anniston (AL) Star, Nov 2, 1941 (newspapers.com) reported that William H Veazie of White Plains, NY, had been approved as program secretary of the local (assumed to mean White Plains) Army YMCA. In the 1940s, William H Veazie is mentioned in several newspaper articles as Chief of Special Services at the Spa Veterans' Administration Hospital near Saratogo, NY (likely Ballston Spa). The Saratogian (Saratoga Springs, NY), Apr 13, 1946, reported in a social column that Mr and Mrs William H Veazie, he the chief of special services at the Veterans Hospital, had taken an apartment at 157 Circular St. William was living in Buffalo at the time of his father's 1951 death3024.
