The marriage record for John T Barkley and Inez (Conklin) Bliss indicates it was the second marriage for both. John and Inez were married by Frank D Draper, minister; witnesses Bert Hodges and Clara Hodges, both of Amasa.
John was a boilermaker for the railroad. His WWI draft registration221 lists his middle name. In 1900, he and first wife Ida lived in Owosso, MI, with daughter Fern. Sometime between 1906 and 1909, the family moved to Chicago, where he was a boilermaker. By 1918, he was back living221 in Owosso. He lists his father as his nearest relative. The 1920 census2592 indicates he was divorced, probably prior to 1918 as his father, rather than his wife, is listed221 as his nearest relative. In 1920, sons Raymond, Joe Aden and J Robert Barkley were living with him. In 1922, he married second Inez (Conklin) Bliss. He and Inez lived in Corunna in 1930.
Inez married1523 first May 4, 1900, George E Bliss, physician, the son of Stebbins C Bliss and Marilla Moore. That was George's third marriage. The next month, she and George lived in Essex, MI. In 1910, she and George lived in Owosso, MI. George died in 1917. It appears that she and George had no children, though George had children by previous wives. In 1920, Inez Bliss lived in Owosso, now a widow. Her birthdate is taken from the 1900 census.
