William's full name is listed in the marriage record1570 for William and Mary Matt. Whether he and Mary divorced, or Mary died, William in any case married second Anna Henries in 1898. Anna is listed as widowed in 1940.
Although Mary's parents' names are listed in the marriage record for Mary to William M Barkley, locating Mary is, at first, a bit difficult as neither her age or birthplace is therein listed. In 1880, Mary Matt, age 17, b NY, a dressmaker, "step-daughter," is living in the household of Charles Forbes and his wife Susan Forbes, age 40, born New York. Also in that household is Mary Murphy, age 38, single, "sister-in-law." Mary may be the "Mary J Barkley," who died2642 in New York City, 15 Dec 1893, age 31. That date is consistent with William's marriage to Anna Henries in 1898.

Grace E Barkley appears in 1900 in the houshold of Susan Forbes, "Gd daughter." A bit of research indicates that Mary Matt's mother, Susan Murphy, married second Charles Forbes. That information makes it very likely that Grace is the daughter of William Barkley and Mary Matt. Grace also appears as the granddaughter of Susan Forbes in 1905. Little else is found about Grace.
