Horace resided with his parents in 1900 and 1910. In 1920, Horace and Esther L Veasey, and their daughter Katherine, were residing on the farm of George and Martha Dawson. Horace was a farm laborer.

The Tipton (IN) Tribune, Jan 3, 1930 (newspapers.com), reports that Florence Vesey, 9-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Horace Vesey, west of Arcadia, underwent an operation for mastoid trouble and was getting along nicely. The mother and another daughter Katherine, were both ill with influenza and Mrs Wid(sic) Burton, mother of Mrs Vesey, was caring for the home.

Esther is listed variously in census records, her marriage license record and children's marriage/license records as Letha E, Lettie, Leoffie Esther, and Esther.
