In 1900, Allen and Charlotte had been married²⁰⁶⁷ 2 years. That year, her mother, Ida Lemon, is residing with Charlotte and Allen.

Allen was a prominent attorney, practicing in Chicago, IL; Goshen, IN; and for most of his life, Fort Wayne, IN. For many years, he and wife Charlotte H Lemon Vesey lived at 1321 Maple Ave in Fort Wayne. He and Charlotte apparently had no children.

In 1900, Charlotte's mother, Ida Lemon, was residiing with Charlotte and Charlotte's husband Allen J Vesey. In 1920, Constance and Joseph Underhill, niece and nephew respectively, were residing with Charlotte and Allen. Constance and Joseph are elsewhere documented as the daughter and son of Lillian Underhill. Joseph's middle name is given on his WWI draft registration as Lemon, his nearest relative being "Mrs Lilian Underhill (mother)."
