Carrie married Chesley Foster in 1935, her first marriage, his second marriage. In 1940, "Jesley" and Carolyn Foster resided in the household of Idella Foster, widow, Chesley's mother. Carolyn apparently married at some later date (unkn) Lewis, as Carolyn Lewis is mentioned⁸¹¹ as predeceasing her sister Mildred Veazie Childs Berry in Mildred's obituary.
