Married853 1719 Jun 4853 at Boston, MA853. John Thayer & Lydia Copeland were married853 by the Hon. Sam. Sewall Esq. J. P. Sprague841 has this marriage as the second for John Thayer.

Thayer4822 (p 186) has John married to Lydia Wales, and Ebenezer Thayer, p 184, married to Lydia Copeland, both with the date June, 1719. That appears to be a confusion of Christian names and surnames, Ebenezer Thayer was married853 to Rachel Wales in Braintree, MA, Nov 12, 1719, by Mr Samuel Niles. Wales845 has this marriage, also, for Rachel Wales, dau of Nathaniel and Joanna (Faxon) Wales. Rachel's sister, Mary Wales, also a daughter854 of Nathaniel & Joanna Wale, was this Capt John Thayer's first wife.

Sprague841 has John married third to Elizabeth (Faxon) Hayden, widow of Benjamin Hayden. Elizabeth was born Apr 7, 1702, the dau of Josiah and Mehitable (Adams) Faxon. Elizabeth died in 1789.
