Herbert and Grace were married by Joshua Stanisfield, clergyman. Witnesses: William Duncan and William Johnson, both of Port Huron.

Herbert's World War I draft registration²²¹ card lists his occupation as a painter and paper hanger for Geo. Crackel, 6th St, Pt Huron, MI. He listed his nearest relative as "(wife) Alice Macklin Johnson."

In 1910, Grace and her children, Earl and Ruth, residied²⁸²¹ at 1604 Poplar St, in Port Huron, MI. She is listed as married but Herbert is not listed in the household.
