Frederick and Mabelle were married by George L Cady, clergyman, of 22 Trull Street.

Fred resided with his parents, or his mother after his father's death, through 1910. Fred is likely the Frederick V Hardwick, MD, who signed the 1906 death certificate¹⁷⁷⁸ for Edward Hardwick, who would have been Fred's uncle. In 1910, Frederick, head of family, is listed as a physician, and his mother Martha lived with him. Fred died³²⁰⁸ of lobar pneumonia at the age of 40y 9m 12d. His wife was the informant for that death record.

In 1930, Mabell H Hardwick, with her children Constance and Paul, resided in the Whaley Memorial Home in Flint, Michigan, where she was a superintendent social worker. In 1940, residing still at that Home, she is listed as the superintendent of the institution.

It appears that the Whaley Memorial Home was an institution for children and young adults as the inmates were all primarily less than 20 years of age. That may have been one of several institutions in and around Flint, Michigan, established in the first half of the 20th century by Robert H Whaley and family.

In 1945, she resided with her daughter Constance, and Constance' husband Arno Luehman. She was a social worker, with a college education.
