Salma Hudson Carter appears variously in records as S Hudson Carter, and Hudson Carter.

In 1880, Hudson Carter resided150 with his parents, and is listed as a marble cutter.

Salma Hudson Carter married 1) Jun 5, 1885, in Painted Post, Miss Dela B Meeker. Della B Carter died5105 Feb 6, 1888, at the age of 18. She was interred in Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY, having been removed from "Prospect Cemetery." Another interment record5105 for Hope Cememetery indicates "infant of D. B." Carter died 18 Aug 1887, age 6 weeks, perhaps a child of Della and Hudson. That child had also been removed from "Prospect Cemetery."

The Corning (NY) Journal, Dec 11, 1890, mentioned that Salma H. Carter had married Ida M. Bideler.

The 1910 census1253 for Upper Mount Bethel, PA, lists the family of "Jerrie? G Carter," age 50, married twice, currently married 19 years, born New York, and a locomotive engineer. His spouse is Ida M, age 44, married twice, and born in New York. Three daughters are listed: Mabel J, Orrie F, and Anna O Carter. In spite of the name of the head of household, that certainly appears to be Hudson, Ida, and their daughters.

Hudson Carter died5103 Nov 14, 1917, in Delware, Ohio. He was survived by four brothers: Edward, Ruben(sic), Glen and Owen; and by three daughters: [illegible], Anna and Mabel Carter. His interment record5105 for Hope Cem., Corning, NY, also mentions "trans from Delaware,OH," and cause of death "pul. Tuberculosis."

The 1910 census1253 indicates that Ida M Carter had been married twice. No indication of a marriage prior to Hudson Carter has been found.

Ida may be the Ida M Carter buried in Hope Cemetery, Corning, New York, the same cemetery where husband Salma Carter, Salma's parents, and several of Salma's siblings are buried. No further information regarding Ida has, at this time (2017), been found.

Mabel Carter is mentioned in the 1917 obituary5103 of Hudson Carter as a surviving daughter.
