Sometime between 1910 and 1918, Samuel and Alice were divorced - in 1918, Samuel's WWI draft registration²²¹ lists his nearest relative as his mother, and, in 1920, Alice Curtis resided with her mother Fanny Crane, and is listed as divorced.

In 1900, Samuel, a clerk in a box factory, with wife Alice and sons Samuel Jr and Arthur B, resided in the household of Alice's father, Benjamin Crane. In that year, Samuel listed his birthdate as Sep 1874. In 1918, Samuel's occupation²²¹ was clerk for Bicknell & Fuller Paper Box Co, of Boston. He listed his nearest relative that year as Mrs Louise K Curtis (mother), of Newton Center, MA.

Sometime between 1910 and 1918, Alice and Samuel Curtis were divirced. They appear as husband and wife in 1910⁷⁸⁶, but Samuel, in 1918, on his WWI draft registration²²¹, lists his nearest relative as his mother. In 1920, Alice's marriage status⁷⁷⁴ is divorced.
