Married⁴²⁴¹. - Daughter Imogene Lawrence' parents' names, including her mother's maiden name, appear in the obituary⁴²⁴¹ of Imogene's brother Parker Vesie Lawrence. Imogene is referenced in that article as Parker's sister, "Mrs Rufus S Tilden."

Malcolm's death index entry⁴⁰⁵⁹ lists his parents as Benjamin R Lawrence and Mary A Parker, his occupation as lawyer, and spouse as Antoinette Lawrence.

In 1900, Malcolm is listed as a lawyer. In that census⁸⁹¹, in the household of Malcolm R and Imagene Lawrence, Francis Beard, "father-in-law," b Dec 1817 in England. Rather than a "father-in-law," it may be that Malcolm (and his brother Frank) was adopted by, or at least parented by, Francis Beard, as Malcolm and Frank Lawrence are listed in several records in the household of Francis Beard, each listed as "child" or "son."

I.e., in 1865, the Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, state census (familysearch.org) lists Francis Beard, age 47, ship joiner, born England; Mary A Beard, wife; F L Beard, age 11, born England; and M Beard, age 7, born England. In the 1870 census for Brooklyn: lists the household of Francis Beard, age 53?, carpenter, born England; Mary Beard, age 38, born England; Frank Lawrence, age 21, lawyer, born England; Malcomb Lawrence, age 17, errand boy, born England. In the 1880 census for Brooklyn, the household for Francis Beard, age 60, ships joiner, born England, consists of Mary Ann Beard, age 50, wife, keeping house; and Malcolm Lawrence, age 27, "son," lawyer, born England.
Imogene was the daughter of Alonzo and Mary Sheffield (New York state census 1875, Brooklyn.) Her father died⁴²⁴⁶ Apr 29, 1920. That death notice refers to Alonzo as "beloved father of the late Imogene Sheffield Laurence[sic]."
