In 1894, William C Young is listed as the son of Willis and Flora Young. In 1900, he is listed as Crawford W Young.

He served in World War One in the U. S. Army infantry in France. Dr. W Crawford Young was a graduate of the Detroit School of Medicine and was a dentist in Mancelona, Grand Rapids and Rockford, MI. He was the first mayor of Rockford, MI, and held the office for 10 years. He retired in 1954.
