Source of middle name: The Bangor City Directory (several years) lists "Jones Perkins Veazie," as well as several other references. "Amer. Biographies" pub²⁹⁸⁶ has marriage year to Mary Jane Winslow 1835.

Jones P Veazie was a successful merchant. Sometime before 1870³⁴⁴ he had retired and the value of his real estate was $20,000; his personal value was $100,000. Jones P died in Bangor at the age of 63y 8m 14d.

Mary Jane's birthplace is listed⁸⁰² in son Samuel's death record. Mary Jane (Winslow) Veazie is listed⁴³⁸⁶ in the cemetery records for both Samuel Winslow and Sally (Johnson) Winslow. From the coincidence of Mary's birthplace (Topsham, ME) and the burial location for Samuel and Sally (Johnson) Winslow, and the name of the daughter of Mary and Jones Veazie: Sally Johnson Veazie (perhaps reflecting Mary's mother's name), it is assumed that Mary Jane is the daughter of Samuel and Sally (Johnson) Winslow.
