In 1870, Samuel resided451 with his brother Alfred and Alfred's recent bride, Elizabeth. He was a clerk in a store. In 1880 (135 North St, Brookln, NY) and 1900 (335 Riverdale Ave, Yonkers, NY), he was a clerk in a millinary store.
At the time of her marriage to Samuel Barclay, Gertrude's surname was Purdy. Her middle name is given in the burial index4334 for Green-wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
In 1916, Gertrude F Barclay, "wid Samuel," resided at 335 Riverdale Ave, Yonkers, where she and Samuel are enumerated in the 1900 census. Her obituary4578 states that she was born in Hammondsport, NY, and, when a girt, her parents removed to Cortlandt, NY. She lived in Cortlandt County until she entered Packer Collegiate Institute, Brooklyn, from which she was graduated with the class of 1870. She resided in Brooklyn until her marriage to Samuel Barclay. In 1883, the family moved to Yonkers, residing at 335 Riverdale avenue.
Gertrude was one of the founders of the Park Hill Reformed Church of Yonkers, and she was active in the church's affairs until her death. She was survived by daughter Florence and son Charles; by brothers Clark Bell (of New York City) and George Henry Bll (of Flatbush, Brooklyn); and by sisters Adelia Bell and Mrs Olive L Moller, both of Yonkers.

The 1800 census354, enumerated Jun 14, 1880, lists Carrie B, daughter of Samuel and Gertrude Barckley[sic] as age 6 months, born Nov. Carrie B Barclay was buried in Green-wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY, on Apr 10, 1888. Her burial is listed in the same section and lot with Samuel and Gertrude Barclay.

Florence's middle initial is listed1735 in the Yonkers city directory, 1916. She resided with her widowed mother. Florence resided2266 at 335 Riverdale Ave in Yonkers through 1940. In 1940, her mother's sister, Olive (Bell) Moller, age 96, resided with her. Florence Barclay died at the age of 94.
