Philip's middle name is listed¹¹⁴⁸ on his Masonic lodge membership card. He was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Lodge, Chelsea, MA.

Following Caroline's untimely death, Philip married second⁴⁰⁰⁹, Nov 3, 1864, in Chelsea, MA, Isabel M Foster, born ~1845 in Chelsea to Joshua and Sarah A Foster.

At the time of his marriages and membership in the Masonic Lodge, and at the time of his death, he was a ship rigger or chandler, listed in one record as Master Rigger.

According to wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org), Philip served during the War Between The States in the U. S. Navy in the North Atlantic Squadron. Following that service, he lived in Boston until 1865, when he moved to New York City. Philip served as a Republican representative to Congress from New York from 1895 to 1899.

Sadly, Caroline died¹⁷⁷⁴ of "inflamation of lungs" at the age of 21y 10m 20d, less than 8 months after her marriage to Philip.
