In several records, Samuel is listed as a silversmith. Following Lucy's death, Samuel married4009 second Aug 28, 1875, in Chelsea, MA, Eliza A Kent, also her second marriage. Eliza was born ~1832 in Tamworth, NH. Her parents are listed only as John and Joanna, with no indication of Eliza's maiden name. Circumstantially, it is likely that Eliza was the Eliza Ann Nutter, who married4009 Jun 21, 1863, in Boston, MA, Franklin Kent. That Eliza Nutter was also born ~1832 in Tamworth, NH, and her parents are listed as John and Joanna.

In 1880, Samuel and Eliza A McNear resided in Readfield, ME. He is listed as a silver smith, unemployed for 12 months; she is listed as a dry goods merchant. As the children of Samuel and Lucy, George and Martha, would have been about 16 and 9 years of age respectively, but do not appear in that record, it may be that they both died prior to that year.

Samuel died802 in Readfield, ME, of apoplexy, at the age of 68y 9m 14d. He is listed as married, born in Wiscasset, buried in Massachusetts, and occupation silver smith.

Lucy A McNear died1774 at the age of 41y 11m, of consumption. That record indicates she was married, but lists her parents only as "Eli C. Adeline" without an indication of her maiden name.
