The 1900 census334 has both Henry's parents born in New Jersey. In 1900, he was a bank clerk, his name being recorded as "Veacie," and he and Sophie resided in a multi-family dwelling at 121 West 104th. In 1905, his name is listed4512 as "Veazey," he was a bank clerk, and he and Sophie resided in a mult-family dwelling at 137 Edgecoombe Terrace. In 1910, Henry, still living at 137 Edgecoombe, is a widower, and a clerk at a broker's office.

The 1900 census334 indicates that Sophie immigrated in 1885. Sophia died Oct 17, 19054624. Her obituary includes a touching tribute: "The trial was hard, the pain severe. To part with Sophia, we loved so dear." In addition, the obituary requests "Berlin and Stuttgart (Germany), Philadelphia (Pa.) papers please copy."
