She then worked as librarian and purchasing agent for the Rochester Business Institute (RBI), retiring from there ~1957. She and husband George lived for a while in Washington, DC, while their son, Cmdr. John H Burt, was on a tour of duty at the Pentagon. Sarah and George returned to Rochester, where she took a position, about September, 1960, as executive alumni secretary of RBI.
