Married4622 1921 Jun 34625 at Lafayette, IN?. The May, 1921, wedding announcement4622 of Vernon and Vivian states the wedding would take place some time in June. The Lafayette Journal and Courier Newspaper Index4625, 1902-1952, lists an entry for Vivian Cheadle and Vernon Vesey, married 3 Jun 1921. The entry does not mention the specific location of their marriage.

Vernon's middle name is listed4636 on son Joseph's birth certificate.

In 1910, Verne Vesey was listed as a mailing clerk. Vernon enlisted4627 in the U. S. Signal Corps as a private on June 5, 1918, and served during World War I until July 16, 1919, when he received an honorable discharge.

In 1920, he resided with his brother Onello and was an electrician at an auto factory. A Vern Vesey, residing with his brother "L G Vesey," is also listed1557 as an office clerk in Detroit. By 1930, he had married and was living in West Lafayette, IN, as a testman for a telephone company.

Vernon and Vivian were apparently divorced sometime prior to 1940, as the 1940 census3159 for Goshen, IN, lists Vernon, wife Mildred, and son Joseph Vesey. First wife Vivian's death certificate4633 lists her last name at death as Schaefer.

At the time of son Joseph's birth4636, Vernon was a telegrapher for the Postal Telegraph Co. An application4627 for his headstone was filed by his wife, Mrs Mildred R Vesey, on May 17, 1961. She listed her address as 64 East Norman Ave, Dayton, Ohio. That application provides his service information and death date.

Vivian appears in most records as "Vivian." The 1900 census4634 lists her as "Mary." Her sister, Mrs Anabel Atkinson, of Fowler, Indiana, was the informant for Vivan's death certificate.
