In 1880, Ernest, listed as a medical student, resided in Cascade, WI, in the household of G T Loomis, a physician. That same year, he appears in the school catalog (www.ancestry.com) for Northwestern University and Garrett Biblical Institute in the Junior Class. His perceptor is G T Loomis, likely the physician with whom he boarded.

Sadly, Ernest died just 3 months after his marriage to Phebe. Phebe died just 3 years later.
