In 1996, Deborah was appointed principal4741 of the Sauquoit Valley Central Elementary School. She was previously a teacher at Conkling School, Utica, NY, for 20 years. She was a graduate of SUNY (State University of New York) Potsdam, with a B. S. degree. She also attended SUNY Cortland to complete requirements for curriculum development. At the time, her husband Cary Flack was deputy commissioner for Oneida Co., NY. That article mentions two children: Gretchen, age 18, at the time a freshman at Bucknell University; and Andrew, age 10, a pupil at Stokes Elementary School, Rome, NY.
