The (transcirbed) inscription (Pattee{/super 687}, p 122) of Joseph's headstone in Hancock Cem., Quincy, MA, reads: "Here lyeth ye Body of Deacon Joseph Penniman, aged 65 years. Deceased November ye 5, 1705."
