The database for the announcement4869 of their marriage does not indicate the month or day of their marriage, only the year - 1917. However, it states that Beatrice Louise Armijo is the daughter of Mrs Everett L Kerns, 269 West Seventy-ninth Street; Robert V Arnold was the son of Mrs George A Arnold of Cambridge, Mass. They were married "last evening" at St Stephen's Episcopal Church. Miss Dorothy Arnold was maid of honor, and John Lawton was the best man. The Marriage Index4079 provides the date.

In the 1930 census4866 for Ridgewood. Robert, age 43, was married at the age of 31, and Beatrice, age 38, was married at the age of 26. I.e., both had been married 12 years earlier. Beatrice maiden name is assumed for that 1930 census. Caroline B Kearns, "mother-in-law," resided in the household of Robert and Beatrice.

In 1910, Robert resided335 in Manhattan, NY, with his sisters Ruth and Margaret. He was a motor car salesman. He registered for the draft221 in Prec 16, NY, NY. He resided at 308 W15, NY, NY, an unemployed auto salesman.

A wedding announcement4869 for Robert and Beatrice mentions that Robert was graduated from Harvard in 1908. The Harvard Alumni directory (www.ancestry.com) for 1919, lists Robert Veazie Arnold's contact information as "Care of Packard Motor Car Co., White Plains, NY." The wedding was apparently a big affair, as In another news article4933, a mention was made that Mrs T M Greene of Cincinnati, while in New York to visit her daughter, would also be attending the marriage ceremony of Beatrice Louise Kerns and Robert Veazie Arnold at St Stephen's church, "in the presence of one thousand guests." Also mentioned was that the reception following the wedding would be held for a hundred guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Everett L Kerns on 79th street.

Shortly after the birth of their daughter Dorothy, Robert and Beatrice resided at 138 Melrose Place, Ridgewood, NJ.

He died4864 in North East Borough, Erie Co., PA, at the age of 54y 7m 20d of a coronary thrombosis. He was an automobile salesman. The informant for his death certificate was his wife, Beatrice L Arnold, 138 Melrose Place, Ridgewood, NJ. His headstone840 has "2D LT. US ARMY."

In 1913, Beatrice Armijo, age 22, appears on the passenger list4042 for the S S Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm, sailing from Bremen to the Port Of New York, to arrive Aug 25, 1913. Just above her on that list is Clara Kerns, age 42. Both list their U. S. address as 269 W 79 St, NY, NY.

In the 1920 census4865 for Ridgewood, NJ, the birthplaces for Beatrice' parents are listed as New Mexico (father) and Pennsylvania (mother). In 1930, Beatrice' mother, Caroline B Kearns, born Pennsylvania, resided with the family. The wedding announcement4872 for Beatrice and Robert has Beatrice' mother as Mrs Everett L Kerns. Beatrice entered the church on the arm of her stepfather, Everett L Kerns. Another wedding announcement4869 announcement mentioned that the bride was a graduate of Smith College, class of '13.
