The headstone⁸⁴⁰ for Barney Mattason reads: "Barney Mattason 1859 - 1908 Grandfather."

The wedding announcment⁵⁰⁵² for Carrie's second marriage to M W Stevens appears in the Jun 17, 1914, issue of the Brainerd (MN) Daily Dispatch. However, Caroline J "Madison," mother-in-law, appears in the 1920 census⁵⁰⁴⁹ for St Paul, MN, in the household of Charles J and Alma Olson. In the 1930 census²⁶³⁰ for St Paul, Caroline J Stevens, mother-in-law, married, resided in the household of her son-in-law Carl J Olson, widowed, along with Mardell C Olson, her granddaughter. Both census entries for Carl Olson were 1148 Snelling Ave.
