Hollis C Houghton and Mildred Fort were married at the parsonage of the Baptist church in Ogden, UT, by Rev Arthur Joseph Hanson. Mr and Mrs Ernest Fort, Mrs Clara Hougton, Lyall Bishop (best man), and Mrs Bishop (matron of honor) attended the ceremony. The couple was to make their home at 3202 Washington Ave.

Midlred E Fort is listed as the spouse of Hollis C Houghton in both a Utah marriage database5071, and on the death certificate5070 for Hollis Charles Houghton. The Utah marriage database also lists dates of Nov 4 and Nov 14, 1929, which may be record dates, rather than date of marriage.

The Ogden (UT) Standard-Examiner, Mar 12, 1927 (newspapers.com), mentioned Hollis Houghton as the champion in the 112-pound class (wrestling) for the Weber Gymnasium team in a 1927 Intermountain (AAU) Championship.

The Ogden (UT) Standard-Examiner, Jul 11, 1935 (newspaperarchive.com), detailed a long distance maneuver by several Ogden units, the longest motorized "march" of guard troops in history. A six mile column of 100 trucks started at down to cover some 2000 miles to California and back. Among the hospital company taking part is listed Private first class Hollis C Houghton.

Hollis' 1939 obituary5074 mentions that he had lived in Ogden for 15 years, having gone there from Canada. He was a member of the National Guard, 143rd hospital unit, and was working for the WPA in the Ogden district when he was taken ill. "Private Hollis C Houghton" was buried with military honors.

In 1920, Mildred, age 7, resided5073 with her parents in Webster, IA, along with many of her siblings.

Following Hollis Houghton's death, Mildred married5077 Aug 4, 1944, Eastland, TX, Olan Phillips. They resided in Stephens Co., TX, until 1964, when they moved to Breckenridge.

Mildred Eleanor Phillips died5078 at home, 1112 W Lindsey, Breckenridge, TX, Monday, Mar 1, 1971, at the age of 58 years of coronary thrombosis. She was bured Mar 3 in Breckenridge.
