Ernest E Fort was born5076 in Baldwinville, NY, to Sylvester S and Emeline (Avery) Fort. In 1891, he married Miss Lena Smith in Webster City. He moved to Ogden from Webster City, Iowa, in 1925, and was then employed by the street car company.
He died Feb 11, 1932, as a result of critical injuries sustained by being struck by a motor-truck two days before his death.
Ernest was a member5076 of the LDS church, was a Sunday school worker, and a member of the high priests quorum of the Fourteenth ward. He was survived by his wife, nine sons and daughters, and two sisters. Among the surviving daughters was Mrs Hollis C Houghton of Ogden.
The spouse of Ernest Fort appears as Lena, and Lena D, in several records. The death certificate of daughter Mildred (nee Fort) Phillips lists Mildred's parents as Ernest Fort and Dorothea Smith. It is assumed that Dorothea is Lena's middle name.
