He died2004 in Buxtin, ME, a farmer, married, of peritonitis and typhoid fever, aged 48y 4m 8d. His birth date is listed in that record.
In addition to Jennie's marriage record to George, the marriage record2484 for son Ralph to Grace (Bowers) Gates lists his mother as "Sarah J Staples," born Limerick, Maine. Sarah lived with her parents in 1860 and 1870. In 1880, she is residing with her sister Susan C Young, Susan's husband John W Young, and their con Frederick W Young. She is, in that record, listed as Jennie S Staples, "sister-in-law." Sarah is a widow in 1900. She may be the Sarah Veazie, age 53, a widowed housekeeper in the household of Richard Grant in Saco, 1910. She can't be found in the 1920 census. Jennie's marriage record ("Sarah J Staples") lists her as the daughter of Cyrus K and Olive H C Staples.
