Frank's death certificate4633 lists his parents as C H Finch, b Indiana, and --- Huntsinger, b Indiana. Frank appears in the 1880 census3179, age 3, as the son of Charles H and Lovina Finch, both born Indiana. Two siblings, Jennie, age 2, and Herbert, age 7, are also listed. Charles H Finch and Lovina E Huntsinger were married2072 Oct 26, 1871, in St Joseph Co., IN.
Frank Finch was an undertaker, as indicated in various census records, and on his death certificate4633, the firm being listed as Finch & Sprague of Mishawaka, IN.
Mrs Grace M (Crooks) Finch committed suicide4633 in the residence of her son-in-law Edwin Sommer (see info for daughter Emily's death below), dying of asphyxia by illuminating gas. She was the widow of Frank J Finch. The informant for her death certificate was Edwin Sommer, 908 E Donald St, the same address listed as Grace's residence. The 1939 death certificate of Grace's daughter Emily lists Edwin Sommer as Emily's husband, of 908 E Donald St, South Bend, IN.
In 1940, Grace resided5349 with her daughter Emily, son-in-law Edwin Sommer, and Edwin and Emily's daughter Barbara.

Robert Finch died4633 at the age of 17 years of acute cardiac dilation, contributed by diabetes melitis. His father is given as F J Finch, and his mother as Grace ---. Strangely, the informant for his death certificate was signed "Mrs Grace Guess mother." It appears that Grace, for whatever reason, didn't want to identify herself, or had some other reason not to state her maiden name.
