In 1900, 1910 and 1920 he is listed as a shoe or boot maker, or cobbler, with his own shop. In 1920, Joseph, listed as a widower, has listed in his household his son Fred, Fred's wife Grace, and Fred's daughter Katherine. Suspiciously, there is an 1880 census listing in Rockland for Joseph Veazie (teamster) and wife Abbie S., both age 27, but both born Canada and all parents born in Canada.
