Family of David Louis WILLIAMSON and Mahala EVANS

David Louis WILLIAMSON b. 1830 Oct 185649 at Quaker Street, Schenectady Co., NY5496. d. 1916 Oct 285690 at home of daughter, Mrs W E Lamphier, Canisteo, NY5690. bd. Riverside Cem., Cameron, NY5498.
Mahala EVANS b. 18385496 at Howard, Steuben Co., NY5497. d. 1881 Mar 255497 at Cameron, NY5497. bd. Riverside Cem., Cameron, NY5498.

Married5496 1864 Jan 30 at Cameron, NY. The obituary5497 has Mrs Williamson and David L Williamson married in 1864.

David Williamson is listed variously as a farmer, butcher, justice of the peace, and a tin peddler.

An 1873 land ownership map5716 forCameron, NY, shows "D L Williamson" on the northeast corner of what is today Cameron River Road and Bath Cameron Road.

In Oct, 1916, several days short of his 86th birthday, David fell5691 when arising5691, at the home of his daughter Ada, Mrs W E "Lamphere", critically injuring himself. David had begun living with his daughter following the death of his (third) wife (Millicent Robbins) a few months prior to his fall. On Oct 28, 1916, David L Williamson, at the age of 86 years and 10 days, died5690 at 2 AM at his daughter's house. Though he had been failing for several months, his death was apparently a direct result of that fall.

Mahala's obituary5497 has her birth in Howard, Steuben Co., NY, in 1839. Her funeral took place at the Methodist Church, Mar 27, 1881, officated by Rev J H Blades of Addison. That obituary mentions children (one daughter and two sons): Jesse, Linnie and Libbie.
