Married797 1889 Oct 145914 at Bradford, NY5914. The 1900 census1126 lists Charles E and Rose Shattuck as married 11 years. The obituary5914 for Mrs Charles Shattuck (Rosalie Blunt) provides the exact date and location.

Determination of the parents of Rosalie's husband, Charles Shattuck, is circumstantial. In 1892, Charles (age 25) and Rosa Shattuck resided1433 in Bath, NY, enumerated adjacent to Benjamin Shattuck (age 35) and his family, and enumerated within 10 to 15 households of Joel D and Phebe Shattuck, and their sons Jessie and Floyd. The 1915 obituary5917 for Joel Shattack, lists his wife as Phebe (nee Kelly), and six surviving children: Benjamin, Jerome, Byron, Mrs Louise Vunk, Charles, and Floyd. The 1870 census5918 for Pulteney, NY, lists the household of Joel D Shattuck, comprised of Phebe (age 37), Benjamin (age 17), Jerome, Byron, Louisa and Charles (age 4). From the above information, it appears likely that Charles is the son of Joel Shattuck and Phebe Kelly.

In 1900, Charles was1126 a meat cutter. In 1937, a newspaper article (Evening Leader, Corning, NY, Jan 26, 1937, p 7) relates that Charles E Shattuck, proprietor of a grocery store at 114 Bridge St "for more than a year," announced he would open a meat department with new refrigeration and meat cutting equipment.

After Rosalie's death, in 1940, Charles resided5916 in Corning, NY, in the household of G Otto Carroll. He is listed as age 73, widowed, and proprietor of a retail grocery store.

In 1930, Charles E and Rosalie M Shattuck resided88 in Corning, at 15 West Pulteney St. Charles was a saleman at a grocery store, and Rosalie was a merchant at an "art needle shop."

Various newspaper advertisements of the time note The Art Needle Shop in Corning run by Mrs Charles E Shattuck. Those advertisements have the location as 152 Bridge St before (about) 1930, and 15 W Pulteney St. after that date.
