Following the death of his first wife Lillian, Harry married second1728 (lic date Apr 3, 1930) Esther Elizabeth Slater, age 31, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Smith) Slater. Following Harry's death, his widow and executrix, Esther E Ketcham, submitted his will5858 for probate, Mar 23, 1936, as sole legatee. His estate comprised over $5000 personal estate and $1500 in realty.

The civil war service record5626 for Edward McGowan, under domestic history, lists him as a widower, and his nearest relative as Lillie Ketcham, Hammondsport, NY. Edward's age in that record is 72 years, indicating that information was recorded in about 1914.

Lillian died5862 of cerebral hemmorhage. Her obituary states she was born in New York City. When she was a small girl, her family moved to South Urbana and lived in the vicinity all her life. She was a member of the North Urbana Baptist Church and was survived by: 3 sisters, Mrs Jennie Tobias of South Urbana, and Emma and Libbie of Elmira. Following her death, husband Harry was appointed administrator5860 and sole inheritor of her $1000 estate.
