Of John F "Delaney," McGowan5579 has his will filed Jun 14, 1858 in Chemung County, NY.
The 1850 census5577 for Big Flats, NY, lists the families, in order, Simon Delany (age 31), Elijah Delany (age 35), and George F Delany (age 59, born New Jersey). The agriculture schedule for Big Flats, in that same census, lists, in order, Simon Delany, Elijah Delany, and John F Delany. It is assumed that "George F" Delany in the regular enumeration was an enumeration error, and that person (with Elizabeth, age 60, born New Jersey, listed below him) was John F Delany, the father of Simon and Elijah.
The enumeration page5577 for Big Flats in 1850 is very faint. Below "George F" and Elizabeth Delany are listed (recorded as guesses by bjv) "Ishay??" and "Joinda??" Delany, male/female and ages 26 and 21 respectively. That is likely the source for which McGowan5579 lists two children of John and Elizabeth as "Huey", b ~1824, and "Lorinda", b ~1829.
The 1855 agriculture enumeration5578 for Big Flats, NY, lists data for John F Delany. The familysearch.org film for the 1855 state census for Big Flats doesn't include the first few pages for the family enumeration. I.e., the first page in the film starts with dwelling 33. The heads of family on that first page appear just below John F Delany in the agriculture enumeration. It is assumed John would appear in about dwelling 30 in the inhabitant enumeration.
From Chemung county burial listings5580, it appears that "Ishay" or "Huey" is likely the "Mary A Barrett," listed in death records for Elmira, NY, buried in Big Flats. That entry has Mary A Barrett, married, died Jun 11, 1871, age 47y 6m 15d, parents John F & Elizabeth Delany, born New Jersey, residence 32 Market St.
Following husband John's death, Elizabeth Delaney resided3005 in the household of John Van Tastle, and presumed wife Lorinda, Elizabeth's daughter.
